PROPERTY
Custom-built all-log cabin on several wooded acres with wooded and seasonal mountain ridge views. Located on a quiet residential street with only a few neighboring homes. The paved driveway and minimal steps to the front door make arrival and unloading easy.
INSIDE
Appalachian Escape Cabin blends traditional craftsmanship with modern convenience. Hand-hewn hemlock log walls, exposed beams, hardwood floors, rustic log furniture, and pine-cone themed lighting create a warm, authentic Smoky Mountain atmosphere throughout.
MAIN FLOOR
Gather around the dramatic, floor-to-ceiling, stone-clad two-sided fireplace while relaxing on comfortable sofas. Enjoy your favorite shows on the 48” Smart TV or challenge friends to a game of pool. Relive classic arcade fun with Pac-Man, Centipede, and 48 vintage ’80s games.
The modern kitchen features soft-close cabinetry, stainless steel appliances, custom chiseled-edge granite countertops, and a large island with seating for six. The dining area includes a farm-style table seating up to 10 and its own cozy fireplace - perfect for shared meals and memories.
The main-level King bedroom features a comfortable memory foam mattress and direct access to a Jack-and-Jill bathroom with a double vanity and walk-in shower. A full-size washer and dryer are also located on this level (starter detergent provided).
SECOND FLOOR
Upstairs includes another King bedroom with a memory foam mattress and a spacious family bedroom with two Queen beds (handcrafted by the owner) plus two narrow twin daybeds. Every bedroom has a Smart TV. The upstairs bathroom offers a walk-in shower, a separate jetted tub, and heated floors during the winter months.
PORCHES & YARD
Sip morning coffee in rocking chairs on the covered porch, dine outdoors at the picnic table, or unwind in the hot tub after a day of hiking and exploring. The landscaped yard features native plants and seasonal blooms - flame azaleas, pink lady slippers, and rhododendrons - creating a true Smoky Mountain experience. Evenings are perfect for s’mores around the backyard fire pit (firewood not provided).
Kids will love the charming “little log cabin” playhouse, built from trees harvested right on the property.
Whether you’re looking to disconnect and unwind or explore the area’s many attractions, escape to Appalachian Escape. Downtown Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge, Dollywood, the Aquarium, zip lines, hiking, and more are all just a short drive away.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION
• Mountain Location: This is a mountain property. Guests should expect to drive on mountain roads. A 4WD or AWD vehicle/or tire chains may be required during the winter months in the event of snow or ice.
• Child Safety: The house is child-friendly but not child-proof. The property is not fenced, so children must be supervised by a responsible adult at all times when outdoors.
• Housekeeping: Daily cleaning services are not provided. Guests will receive towels, linens, and a starter supply of soap, dishwasher detergent, laundry detergent, toilet paper, paper towels, and trash bags.
• Wilderness Environment: The property is located in a wooded, largely wild area. Despite regular pest control, encounters with insects, arachnids, or other wildlife (inside or outside) are possible. Keep doors closed at all times, do not leave food in vehicles, and never leave food, leftovers, or trash outside. All garbage must be bagged and secured in the provided bear-resistant containers.
• Wildlife: Sightings of bears, deer, reptiles, birds, raccoons, insects, and arachnids are common and do not warrant cancellations or refunds. Feeding wildlife is strictly prohibited.
• Protect Your Travel Expense: Refunds will not be issued for weather events, fear of driving on mountain roads, changes in plans, or personal circumstances. Consider purchasing appropriate travel insurance.
• Third-Party Amenities: Services such as electricity, water, TV, and internet are beyond our control. In the event of service interruptions, guests agree they are not entitled to compensation or refunds.
• Wi-Fi: Complimentary Starlink internet Wi-Fi is provided for your convenience. Login details are available inside the house or via email. While generally reliable, occasional service interruptions may occur due to the property's rural mountain location. The Owners cannot guarantee continuous Wi-Fi access or speed, and disruptions do not qualify for a refund.
• Booking Platforms: This property is listed on multiple online platforms, each with its own policies. The Rental Agreement’s terms take precedence over any conflicting policies on booking sites.
• Rates and Discounts: Rates may vary across platforms and are subject to change. Sales, discounts, or specials (if available) apply only to new reservations.
• Property Rules: No indoor smoking/vaping or pets are allowed. Occupancy must not exceed 10 total guests, with no more than 8 adults.
• Damage Deposit: A $500.00 damage deposit is required, reserved 2 days before arrival and released no later than 5 days after departure, pending a satisfactory post-departure inspection.
• Reservation Requirements: Guests must be at least 25 years old to book. A signed Rental Agreement and valid photo ID must be provided to the hosts within 48 hours of booking, or the reservation may be canceled for non-compliance.
• Long Stays: Stays longer than 8 nights may require interim cleaning with an associated fee.
• Arrival Information: Arrival instructions will be emailed 3 days before check-in. Access instructions will be emailed and texted 2 days before check-in.
• Guest Responsibilities: Guests must inspect the house within 1 hour of check-in and report any issues to the Owners. Unreported issues may be deemed the guest’s responsibility. All concerns or complaints must be submitted in writing (via text or email) before departure, allowing the Owners reasonable time to address and document them.
Rates & Availability
Cancellation Policy: One hundred percent (100.00%) of the total booking charges will be refunded if the cancellation is made more than 60 days prior to the arrival date of the reservation. For cancellations made within 60 days prior to the arrival date, no refund will be issued. Grace period with free cancellation for 24 hours after booking if arrival is at least 48 hours away at time of booking.
About the Owner
We are a couple who loves being "away from it all", the mountains, and the nature of East Tennessee and Western North Carolina. We are avid DIYers, and our cabin is our passion. You will be dealing directly with us, the owners! We know the area, we know our cabins, we love staying in them, and, admittedly, a little proud of them too.
